I've wanted these shoes for a long time now, as I find them to be more in line with my style than the 1461s. This pandemic, I've been wearing low-cut derbies more over boots (I'm really a boot person), and usually I wear office-style shoes or the DMs 1461 (in black), so this is my first "casual derby" in a very long time.
I ordered the tan harvest variant on Traffic and while they said it would take around 7-10 business days (~2 weeks) to ship, I was very pleasantly surprised when the shoes arrived in LESS THAN 1 WEEK.
Now, if the sales service was exceptional, the shoes themselves blew me away. They are the most COMFORTABLE Docs I have ever had, out of the box - maybe the fact that these are MIV rather than MIE is a factor. Whenever I wear them, I never want to take them off no matter how far I walk or how long I drive (and I've driven both manuals and automatics in these already). You really feel like you're walking on air - the AirWair moniker is well-deserved.
They are also the most handsome casual shoe I've ever worn. Unlike the 1461s, which just look so stubby when you have short feet (I wear a size US men's 7 in leather shoes), these ones look cleaner, with the toe looking more spacious. I like the textured look of the harvest leather too, which is a nice change from all my smooth leather shoes that I always fear I'll scuff a lot.
These have now become my new default shoes this pandemic, and I pray Dr. Martens never discontinues them. Cheers.
